Orion’s enforcement module provides the workflows, documentation, and escalation paths brands need to take action on Advertised Pricing and Authorized Seller violations of the brands Authorized Seller policies. It supports the full enforcement lifecycle: identifying violations by root cause, and enables brands to send notices to sellers. Enforcement actions are documented within the platform, creating an audit trail that supports enforcement and demonstrates program activity to internal stakeholders.
Use built-in workflows to streamline outreach, policy enforcement, and legal escalation, enabling fast action against disruptive sellers.
A: MAP Enforcement is the process of identifying Authorized Sellers who advertise products below a brand’s Minimum Advertised Price (MAP), in violation of a brand’s MAP policy, and notifying them of the consequence of their failure to comply with MAP. A brand cannot force an Authorized Seller to sell its product at a certain price, but a brand can require that an Authorized Seller follow the brand’s policies, including its advertising Policies, and enforce these policies accordingly. Effective MAP enforcement requires clear policies, documented proof of violations, and consistent follow-through across all channels. But it is important to note that MAP enforcement does NOT apply to Unauthorized Sellers of your brand.
A: Manual enforcement requires teams to detect Authorized Seller policy violations in one tool, look up Seller information elsewhere, draft and send notices from scratch, and track responses in a spreadsheet. Orion consolidates these steps: violations by Authorized Sellers are detected automatically, seller contact information is centralized, brands can include their notice templates in the platform, and response tracking happens within the same system. This reduces the time per enforcement action and creates a documented record for escalation or legal review by the brand’s legal counsel.
A: MAP policies only apply to a brand’s approved resellers, so brands enforce MAP based on their own independent business judgment against those approved resellers with whom they have relationships (“Authorized Sellers”). Legal Counsel provides advice to brands on how to establish an authorized seller program and what appropriate enforcement steps may look like.
